The Walker’s annual boundary-defying festival of alternative performance turns on the projectors with four illuminating new works that mix performance with film/video by storied artistic collectives from around the globe. Each mixes live performance and video/film in the most unpredictable and compelling ways. While artists have been combining performance and projected image for decades, this intersection is a being explored with ever-more fluidity, sophistication, and humanity. Long held at the Southern Theater, this will be Out There’s first year in the Walker’s new expansion. Unless otherwise noted, performances take place in the William and Nadine McGuire Theater.
